Young amateur golfer Sadbhava Acharya has succeeded in winning the title of Surya Nepal Central Open, the first tournament of this season under Surya Nepal Golf Tour.
Sadbhava defeated the professional player Dinesh Prajapati by 7 strokes and won the second title of his career. Earlier, he won the Surya Nepal Challenge last season. On the final day today, when he scored a 3-under 69, Sadbhav won the title in both the professional and amateur categories, beating the 33 professional golfers who participated in the overall best result of 17-under 271.
Playing an even-par 72, Dinesh Prajapati finished second with an overall 10-under 278. He received a cash prize of 145,000 rupees when he was first in the professional category. Overall, Bhuvan Nagarkoti came third with a score of 7-under 281. He finished with an even-par 72 today.
He won a cash prize of 94,000 when he came second in the professional category.
Sanjay Lama, who scored a 2-over 74 today, finished fourth overall in an even-par 288 performance. 70,000 was awarded to him who came third in the professional category.
Niraj Tamang finished fifth overall with a score of 2-over 290. He finished the last 18 holes with an even-par 72 and collected 58,000 cash prizes to his name.
Day one leader Tassie Tshiring finished second in the amateur category. He scored 3-over 75 today and ended the tournament with an overall result of 3-over 291. He finished sixth overall.
Rabi Khadka finished seventh overall with 4-over 292. He finished with an even-par 72 today. He received 50,000.
Today, Jairam Shrestha finished the match with a total of 5-over 293 including 7-over 79 and finished eighth. He won 42 thousand 500 prizes.
Dhan Bahadur Thapa and Toran Vikram Shahi finished joint ninth with an overall score of 6-over 294. Dhan shot a 6-over 78 and Toran scored a 3-under 69 today. Both received a cash prize of 37,250,000.
Surya Nepal Pvt Ltd Vice President (Marketing) Deepra Lahiri and Nepal Golf Association President Tasi Ghale distributed the prizes to the winning players of the tournament.
A total of 38 players including 33 professionals and 5 amateurs participated in the four-day tournament of 72 holes. 21 professional golfers who made the cut in the tournament with a total of 840,000 cash prizes received cash prizes.
