The government has requested everyone not to panic about the new variant of the corona virus found in India. Dr. Prakash Budhathoki, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Health and Population, said that there is no need to be afraid of the infection found in the state of Kerala, which is far from the border of Nepal.

He said that there is no need to panic as the infection seen in India is respiratory related. Currently, respiratory problems are increasing in India and China. He said that the intensive care unit (ICU), oxygen and other physical infrastructure prepared during Corona can be used when necessary.

Although the new variant seen now is new, it does not have new symptoms. The same respiratory symptoms have been seen in the current new variant,’ he said, ‘there is no need to panic as we have the physical infrastructure and trained manpower.’

According to him, the health decks at the border and at the international airport have been put on alert and have been asked to monitor the respiratory patients.

He said that patients with long-term respiratory problems were instructed to undergo molecular genetic studies (gene sequencing). He said that since everyone has been vaccinated against the corona virus, the vaccine will prevent the infection of the new variant. The World Health Organization (WHO) has confirmed that a new variant of Covid-19 has been found in the Indian state of Kerala. Rasas
