In Balkhu, the police fired 5 rounds of rubber bullets during a clash during a demonstration of power by a group led by medical practitioner Durga Prasai. Spokesperson (SSP) of Valley Police Office Ranipokhari Dineshraj Mainali said that five rounds of rubber bullets were fired during the clash with the protestors. There were two clashes between the supporters of the Prasai-led ‘Rashtra, Nationality, Religion, Culture and Citizen Bachau Mahabhiyan’ and the police at Balkhu Chowk on Thursday afternoon. In the clash, the police fired 157 cells of tear gas. SSP Mainali informed that 5 policemen were injured when the protesters pelted stones while trying to stop the crowd from Balkhu towards Kuleshwar around 12 noon. The injured security personnel have been admitted to the police hospital for treatment. 23 people were injured on the side of the protestors. Among the injured, 17 protestors have been discharged after treatment. 6 protestors are being treated at Kathmandu Medical College Sinamangal.
