IPL Auction: Starc was sold at the highest price

In the Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket auction (player purchase process), Australian player Mitchell Starc has been sold for a record price. He was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders for a record price.

Starc was bought by Kolkata for 24.75 million Indian rupees. No player has been sold for such a high price in the history of IPL so far. Starck’s minimum price was set at two crore Indian rupees.

Some time before Mitchell Starc, another Australian player, Pat Cummins, made the record of the most expensive player. Cummins was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for INR 205 million. Before that, Sam Karan was the most expensive player in the history of IPL. He was bought by Punjab in 2023 for INR 185 million.

Cummins broke his own record. Cummins is also the captain who won the ICC ODI World Cup title for Australia. Under his captaincy, Australia recently won the ICC ODI World Cup title. Shortly after Cummins made history, Starc broke his record.
