Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda has said that Nepal is against the independence of Taiwan.

Prime Minister Prachanda said that Taiwan is an integral part of China at the opening ceremony of the Chinese New Year in Kathmandu on Sunday. In the joint statement issued during his visit to China, he clarified Nepal’s point of view on ‘Taiwan independence’, he said, ‘We want to say again, we are against Taiwan independence. Taiwan is an integral part of China.

Stating that Nepal is clear and firm about the One China principle, he also said that this commitment will not be affected by changes in internal and external affairs.
