Kailash Helicopter won the RNGC Scramble Tournament at the par-68 Royal Nepal Golf Club on Saturday.
The team of pro Santosh Rokka and amateurs Ang Norbu Sherpa, Maj Gen Narendra Rawal and Ashish Sherchan finished first with the score of 14-under 54. Matrika Eye Centre ‘A’ team of pro Rabi Khadka and amateurs Sangam KC, Deepak Karki and Manav Agrawal finished second with the score of 55.
Pro Bhimsen Chaulagai and amateurs Purnaman Shakya, Tara Chitrakar and Prakrit Tamang of Support Nepal Foundation came third on count back. They were tied at 56 with Ncell ‘A’ team of pro Sanjay Lama and amateurs Shreejay Acharya, Indra Dhara Bista and Sanjay Poudyal.
Road house Cafe duo Mithun Rai and Swadesh Gurung won the straightest drive and closest to the pin awards respectively.
Professional golfers in the top three teams earned Rs 50,000, Rs 30,000 and Rs 20,000 respectively, while the amateurs received trophies and gift hampers. Other pros received Rs 10,000 each as appearance fees.
A total of 29 teams sponsored by different corporate houses took part in the tournament played under strokeplay scratch handicap format. Each team consisted of four players — one each pro, single-handicap, mid-handicap and high-handicap players. Ncell, Matrika Eye Center, Himalayan Bank and Salt Trading fielded two teams each, while 21 corporate houses had one team apiece.
