Nepali professional golfer Subash Tamang is set to participate in the Chandigarh Open starting on Wednesday. Another Nepali pro, Sukra Bahadur Rai is recovering from wrist injury and he pulled out of the tournament.
This will be fifth tournament for Subash in the Professional Golf Tour of India since earning full cards from the PGTI Qualifying School in February. He made cuts in the first two events and crashed out early from the next two tournaments. He finished 21st in the PGTI Players Championship in Kolkata, while he came 29th in the Vooty Masters in Telangana.
Subash missed cut in the Gujarat Open. He got an opportunity to participate in the Kolkata Challenge, co-sanctioned by PGTI and European Challenge Tour, but failed to utilize the chance and crashed out after two rounds.
He returned to Tarun Sardesai Golf Academy in Bangalore from Kolkata and has been preparing for the Chandigarh Open, scheduled for April 3-6 at the Chandigarh Golf Club. The event carries a cash purse of INR 1 Crore.
