Govt to be tested on Bhutanese refugee and Giribandhu case: Gagan Thapa

Nepali Congress General Minister Gagan Thapa has said that no one is above the law.

Speaking at a program held in South Korea, he said that since the President and the Prime Minister are not above the law, the Giribandhu and Bhutanese refugee cases will also be investigated.

He said, “Some of us are powerful because they are in power, some are powerful because they are party leaders, some are powerful because of the crowd.” It is not only the issue of Bhutanese refugees and Giribandhu that we have to raise now. We are in the parliament, rest assured. No matter how powerful one is in Nepal, whether it is because he is in the government or because he is the leader of the party or because the crowd on social media calls him God, whoever it is, if a person in power gets away with making mistakes, it is not democracy. Congress General Minister Thapa said Congress, UML, Prime Minister He said that no matter who the case is connected with the former prime minister, it should be investigated according to the law.

He said, ‘Now no one gets any kind of immunity because of being in the government and because of the crowd. Questions are also raised from his own party, you see that in the parliament as well. There is no discount. The government’s test is also about this.
